The Performing Arts Association of Linthicum is an outstanding non-profit organization that brings fine, live entertainment to the people of north Anne Arundel County and the surrounding area.      October 12, 2008 (Sun) 3:00PM:The Centennial  Concert, celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Linthicum with beloved arias from popular operas by the Londontowne Symphony Orchestra conducted by Anna Binneweg and the  Arundel Vocal Arts Society directed and conducted by JoAnn Kulesza.  ($22)

     December 14, 2008 (Sun) 3:00PM: Carla Dirlikov and Michael Gallant, Romantic Duo - Love Songs and Seasonal Music ($22)

     March 15, 2009 (Sun) 3:00PM: Bronn Journey, harpist, and his wife, Katherine, vocalist, present a program of pop, classical, folk and sacred genre. ($22)

     April 4, 2009 (Sat) 7:30PM: The Girl Singers - Featuring Sue Matthews who gives a sparkling tribute and applies her unique vocal talents to three of the Swing Era's most famous girl singers - Doris Day, Peggy Lee, and Rosemary Clooney. ($22)

     May 7, 2009 (Thurs) 7:30PM:  U.S. Navy Band of Washington, D.C. Recognized as "The World's Finest," the Band features some of the nation's top musicians and performs a wide variety of music ranging from classical orchestral works to original arrangements of current popular favorites, as well as traditional marches and patriotic fare. Subscription Form: Click here for a printable subscription form) by sending your check made out to "PAAL" for $45($49 after May 31) per subscription with your name, address and phone number to the address above. Tickets will be mailed in the fall before the first concert.

Subscribers may bring students (6-22) for free and guests for $15 each.

Non-subscribers may purchase tickets at the door for the price in parentheses in the schedule above. Tickets may also be pre-purchased with a charge card from the Chesapeake Arts Center (see next paragraph.) In Baltimore County the Senior Box Office, 410-887-5399, sells 2-for-1 vouchers to county residents age 60 or older who subscribe to SBO for $25/year for a family.

Location: All concerts are held at the Chesapeake Arts Center (CAC), 194 Hammonds Lane, Brooklyn Park, 410-590-6610. (The old Brooklyn Park High School) The facility is handicap accessible and has assistance for the hearing impaired. Parking is free and plentiful. If the artist can get to the concert, the concert will be held. In the event a cancellation is necessary, the announcement will be made on WBAL (1090AM), WBJC (91.5FM), and WJRO (1590AM).

Late Arrivals: in consideration of the artist, seating for late arrivals may be delayed.

PAAL has a Patron Program to help secure the future of the organization. Contributions may be made to the address above, or at any concert. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated and, if you wish, names will be listed in concert programs. Since PAAL is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization, contributions beyond the subscription price are tax-deductible.

As a 501(c)(3) organization, PAAL is required to make its yearly IRS report, Form 990EZ, available for public inspection. PAAL is partially funded by grants from the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County, Inc. and the Maryland State Arts Council.

The Annual Meeting of the PAAL Board of Directors was held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at the Linthicum Library, corner of Shipley and Hammonds Ferry Rd. Business included year-end committee reports and election of officers and board members.

December 1, 2007 (Sat) 7:30PM: Celtic Christmas Suites - Ballet Theatre of Maryland  Highly acclaimed choreographer, Dianna Cuatto, Artistic Director of the Ballet Theater of Maryland and Maggie Sansone, one of America's finest hammered dulcimer performers combine their talents to create a unique vision of the Celtic Yuletide Traditions through dance and music. Sansone's blend of the traditional with original Celtic music fuses with Cuatto's interweaving of the Classical and Celtic dance forms to take you on a journey through time - a journey where professional dancers and musicians will transport you to places past, present and perhaps even future. December 11, 2007 (Tue) 7:30PM: The Jazz Ambassadors is the United States Army's premier touring jazz orchestra. This 19-member big band, formed in 1969, has received great acclaim both at home and abroad performing America's original art form, jazz. (Free)

March 1, 2008 (Sat) 7:30PM: Federal City Brass Band - Based in Baltimore, this band uses original instruments and recreates the sound and appearance of a Civil War era brass band, the 26th North Carolina Regimental Band. ($20)

April 13, 2008 (Sun) 3:00PM: Revolution - This tribute to the Beatles provides a sublime chance to relive the music of the most popular rock 'n roll group of all time by this leading world-wide touring show. ($22)
